Code of Conduct
YooHoo Social is a community built on respect, kindness, and inclusivity. This Code of Conduct sets out the standards we expect from everyone who uses the platform and participates in gatherings.
Our Values
YooHoo Social exists to support the Radical Faeries community; a space for queer people and allies to connect, organise gatherings, and share resources. We believe communities thrive when people feel safe, seen, and respected. These guidelines help us create that environment, both online and at in-person gatherings.
We welcome people of all backgrounds, identities, and expressions. Open communication, creativity, and genuine connection are at the heart of what we do.
Expected Behaviour
We ask everyone in our community to:
- Treat others with respect and empathy, both online and at gatherings
- Engage genuinely and with positive intent
- Respect boundaries, identities, pronouns, and lived experiences
- Use content warnings when discussing sensitive topics
- Ask before photographing or recording anyone at gatherings
- Practise consent in all interactions; check in, don’t assume
- Honour the “leave no trace” principle in natural spaces
- Respect facilitators’ guidance regarding safety and logistics
- Maintain confidentiality about other participants’ personal information shared during gatherings
Unacceptable Behaviour
The following will not be tolerated on the platform or at gatherings:
- Harassment, bullying, or intimidation of any kind
- Hate speech, slurs, or discrimination based on gender, sexuality, race, disability, religion, or any other characteristic
- Non-consensual sharing of intimate images or personal information (doxxing)
- Content that sexualises minors in any way
- Threats of violence or encouraging self-harm
- Spam, scams, or distribution of malware
- Impersonation of other community members or organisers
- Violating the consent or boundaries of others at gatherings
- Content or behaviour that is illegal under Dutch or EU law
At Gatherings
In-person gatherings are a core part of our community, and additional expectations apply. Participants should practise harm reduction and respect community agreements around substance use. Everyone is responsible for their own health, safety, and belongings. If you witness or experience something that makes you uncomfortable, please speak with a facilitator or contact us directly.
Enforcement
Our moderators and gathering facilitators apply proportionate responses based on the severity and context of each situation:
Reporting
Reports are handled confidentially. We aim to acknowledge reports within 24 hours and resolve them within 7 days.
You can report issues by emailing [protected email], or by speaking directly to a gathering facilitator if you're at an event.
Appeals
If you believe a moderation decision was made in error, you can appeal by emailing [protected email]. Appeals are reviewed by a different person than the one who made the original decision.
Changes to This Code
We may update this Code of Conduct as our community evolves. Significant changes will be announced on the platform and communicated to registered users. If you have questions or suggestions, contact us at [protected email].
